About Us

We are the middle school robotics team of the “Samuel von Brukenthal” National College. Our team was founded in 2020.
Since then, new members have joined the team, and our passion for robotics has grown even stronger. We are a team of students passionate about robotics, programming, and engineering.
We always strive to learn new things and challenge our skills by participating in robotics competitions.

Let me walk you through the years of Gear Maniacs Junior.

2020/2021

RePLAY

This year marked the official start of our robotics program. Though the competition was held entirely online, we used the opportunity to master the basics and build our first team culture. With our virtual debut behind us, the long-term adventure has officially begun.

2021/2022

CARGO CONNECT

Exploring the logistics of transportation and how we move people and goods safely and efficiently.

2022/2023

SUPERPOWERED

Our third season brought a wave of new energy with a fresh group of members joining the ranks. This year was a major milestone as we moved past the screen and competed in our first-ever physical event. While we didn't secure a spot at Nationals, the hands-on experience in the pits and on the field provided us with a blueprint for success.

2023/2024

MASTERPIECE

This was the year everything clicked. Not only were we recognized as the best team in our region, but we also secured our first-ever qualification for the National Championship. We didn't just show up to compete and we took the top spot, bringing home our first national title. It was a season of unprecedented success that set a new standard for our program.

2024/2025

SUBMERGED

We returned to the National Championship for the second year in a row, bringing home a new award for our efforts. Competing at this level provided invaluable lessons and highlighted exactly where we can improve. We now have a clear roadmap to push our performance even further next season.

2025/2026

UNEARTHED

The dream became a reality this season. After reclaiming our title as National Champions, we earned the ultimate honor: qualifying for the International Championship. Representing our country on the world's biggest robotics stage was an unreal experience that pushed our skills to the limit.
